True luxury now lies in the ability to savor experiences. Life can often feel like a difficult journey over snowy mountains, wild animals in the shadows, and robbers knocking on your door. It is no surprise that we need a bit of peace while we are bombarded with images and sound of a chaotic world, filled with uncertainty.
As I walked along the shore yesterday, with the sun on my face, I thought about the power of slow. These are the kind of days that I refer to as “A Carpa Vino Days” where life slows down, and I get quality time by myself or with those I love.
The slow movement has been monetized. This is abundantly clear by the number of self-proclaimed gurus who seem to be living amazing Instagram lives. Their feed is filled with beautiful images of them working little, flitting around the world to places like Bali, a few hours on the computer, and they are raking in the cash in their 20’s. True or not true, it demonstrates that we are hungry for this lifestyle, people opening their wallets to pay for the ‘key’, hungry to laugh, to explore, to live.
Fast fashion, fast food, and fast living are now the norm, AI speeding it up even more. However, there is a quiet rebellion brewing, the art of slow living, choosing quality over quantity, depth over surface, and stories over status. What is old is new again. I guess this is why I like artisanal wine. It is slow, with backyard tables, garden flowers and simple food and friends.
Slow wine embodies modern luxury, not just a drink, but an invitation to enjoy life and others. What is life if you can not share it with others?
